I’ve already written one Maximality entry (book extension walled blog section) on deepening your experience of the Friction Step drill in my new book Bare Metal Minimality. Please read that post head to toe here first, before continuing.

So you’re already a step ahead of the basic protocol, just with that post above. But we can turn the screw once more and ramp this up further, at the cost of getting really down and wonky with this same drill.

You should already know about the zig-zag stepping, going forward and then back, the weight shifting, flat-sole stepping, Gapping, and finally in that latest post, the attention point of the jiexi at the top of the instep/ankle join border. So I’ll assume you’ve at least tried that a few times.

So let’s peel one more layer of the onion with one more mental weird trick.
