A few years ago I put out a video on the basic long staff IP generation methods of Xingyiquan. It’s called ‘Dark Fire’, which is a translation for one type of internal energy (暗勁) identified by Master Guo Yunshen (1829-1898). Of all my videos, this one got the most passionate reactions from experienced practitioners. I’ve selected five typical examples and pasted them below, but I could have reported many more.
This staff work is stationary. They look superficially a little similar to the Yiquan long staff video that I’ve put out on my free public YouTube. But these are much more subtle and work a lot deeper.
Posting these testimonials may seem like shilling, but I feel they have value as training records. They may confirm or inspire aspects of your own work.
